    Online shop requirements

    Your online shop must meet the following requirements in order to be activated (see also PDF Checklist for PostFinance Checkout activation):

    • The URL must be active and accessible to us. If the URL is not yet available publicly, then please provide us with the access data (this can be done in encrypted form in the Checkout back office tool).
    • The company name and address are clearly visible on your website (e.g. in the publication details, contact details, “about us” section, etc.). Sole proprietorships must also include the name of the owner.
    • General Terms and Conditions (GTC): the GTC must include the company address, the right of withdrawal and the place of jurisdiction.
    • Your customers must accept the GTC by ticking a box (click to accept) before initiating the payment process for an order or a donation.

    Sectors excluded from PostFinance Checkout

    An up-to-date list of permitted branches will be displayed during the onboarding process. If your branch does not appear in the list, the request may be refused by PostFinance.

    Gambling, betting, auctions, air transport services, money transfer, telecommunications services, tobacco, e-cigarettes, liquids, CBD, pharmaceutical products, firearms/imitation firearms, adult services and the loading of other payment methods are excluded.

    Consolidated invoicing and credit

    Each week, you receive a comprehensive, consolidated invoice in CSV format by e-mail for all the listed payment methods. The invoice includes all individual orders and is suitable for downstream bookkeeping in your ERP. 

    An amount is credited to your account each week for the revenue generated via the PostFinance Checkout All-in-One in your online shop.

    The service can be cancelled subject to one month’s notice.

    • The Checkout All-in-One product is based on a collecting service. This means that all payment methods (PostFinance, Visa, Mastercard® and TWINT) are processed via one contract. For the Checkout Flex product, separate contracts must be concluded with the relevant acceptance partners. As a result, you will need to cancel the Checkout All-in-One product and re-register for Checkout Flex. 

      This involves cancelling the Checkout All-in-One product and registering for the Checkout Flex product.

      A one-off activation fee of CHF 249 excluding VAT is charged to activate Checkout Flex. The monthly costs of using the product amount to CHF 19.90 excl. VAT.

      Please note that your contract for the payment methods that come with Checkout All-in-One is not transferred to the new product. To use Checkout Flex, you will need to conclude additional contracts with the acceptance partners once you have registered.

      If you would like to use the Checkout Flex product in the future, please carry out the following steps:

      1. Log into The link will open in a new window checkout back office
      2. Select the plus sign (desktop: bottom left of the screen; mobile: in the menu)
      3. Select “Account”
      4. Enter the required name (e.g. company name)
      5. Select “Save account”
      6. Run the set-up wizard and open the Checkout Flex product

      You can then cancel the Checkout All-in-One product (see question “How can I cancel Checkout All-in-One and Checkout Flex?”).

    • You can create an unlimited number of spaces in the account.

      • Two spaces are included in the subscription price of CHF 19.90 excluding VAT
      • Each additional space costs CHF 6.90 excluding VAT

      Please note that new acceptance contracts for the chosen payment methods must be set up for each space.
