The use of PostFinance TWINT with a linked credit card has steadily declined in recent years. As of 15 September 2026, linked credit cards will no longer be displayed in the PostFinance TWINT app and can no longer be used for payments.
The use of PostFinance TWINT will remain fully available. Payments will automatically be processed via the PostFinance account linked to PostFinance TWINT. Customers do not need to take any action.
Scan the QR code with your smartphone and download the PostFinance TWINT App directly from the App Store or Google Play.
Collect SmartPoints in the bonus programme By registering for the SmartPoints bonus programme from PostFinance, you can collect points for transactions via PostFinance TWINT (max. 100 points per transaction). You can convert the points into money and have them paid out to your account.

Pay your parking fees with PostFinance TWINT – throughout Switzerland at around 200,000 car parks. You can buy and pay for your ticket directly via the PostFinance TWINT App or scan your QR code at the parking meter. The parking process can be ended at any time, and the amount difference will be credited to you.
Attention bargain hunters! You can find exclusive deals and special offers every week in the PostFinance TWINT App. You can also benefit from discounts with selected partners.
Buy or gift vouchers and credit for various online shops, streaming services and gaming platforms directly from the PostFinance TWINT App.
With the PostFinance TWINT “cash withdrawal” partner function, you can obtain cash quickly and easily in over 2,300 partner shops.

TWINT is the Swiss payment app that enables you to make quick and secure payments with your smartphone. Like many other Swiss banks, PostFinance offers its own TWINT App. The PostFinance TWINT App is linked to your bank account and works in stores, online and between private individuals. You can also use PostFinance TWINT to pay for parking fees, make donations and benefit from discounts.

Yes. The PostFinance TWINT App is free of charge.
PostFinance TWINT meets the most stringent security standards. A six-digit PIN protects the PostFinance TWINT App against misuse. The payment process is executed in Switzerland via the same systems as bank transfers and credit card payments. The TWINT system does not share any user or transaction data with third parties. The app is subject to Swiss banking security standards.
With PostFinance TWINT, TWINT entries are made via the bank account registered by PostFinance. If you do not have a PostFinance account, you can instead use the TWINT Prepaid App, which you can top up using credit codes.
Yes, that is possible. You can install and use several TWINT Apps on the same smartphone, such as PostFinance TWINT and the TWINT Prepaid App or TWINT Apps from various banks.
If you use multiple TWINT Apps, please note that money you receive will automatically be credited to the account saved in your most recently installed TWINT App. Would you like to set PostFinance TWINT as your default app for receiving money? If so, go to payment settings in the app and select “Receive money with this app”.
Children from the age of 12 can use PostFinance TWINT and set up their own account. As TWINT can be used only within the account limits, it is not possible to incur any debt. All functions are available to children.
