During your trainee programme, you’ll gain an in-depth understanding of two departments, spending six months in each. Your application determines the first placement. You then decide on the second one. You also have the opportunity to spend 20 percent of your time working on and driving forward projects outside of your placements. Here you can choose between exciting projects from the entire PostFinance world, giving you the chance to find out what you’re really interested in.

Targeted workshops and your personal training budget will help you to continue developing, both professionally and personally. By completing a wide range of tasks, you’ll have the best opportunities to network with others and to benefit from the knowledge of many different employees from various departments. You decide what your year at PostFinance will look like – based entirely on your interests.

  • Trainee Corporate Responsibility & HR Solutions

“When completing my master’s degree at the University of St. Gallen in Marketing Management, I focused heavily on the issue of sustainability. But simply attending courses on the topic wasn’t really enough for me. That’s why I decided to focus on this issue professionally. The traineeship in corporate responsibility allowed me to gain hands-on experience in this field and to play a part in implementing PostFinance’s corporate responsibility measures. I had the opportunity to work on exciting projects for a six-month period. I was also highly impressed by PostFinance’s open culture. I got a warm welcome from my team right from the outset. Workshops and courses I attended as part of my trainee programme really helped me to develop as a person. I recently started my second placement at the HR Solution Team where I’m now working on staff development. In addition to my main placement, I was also able to spend 20 percent of my time working on a Digital Assets project. This combination makes the PostFinance trainee programme absolutely unique and it enables graduates with wide-ranging interests to find the position that suits them best at PostFinance.”

  • Risk Management expert

Having been instantly captivated by the openness and friendliness of the PostFinance staff at a graduate job fair in autumn 2018, I actually ended up becoming a trainee in risk management a few months later in Bern. From the very first day, I was able to give my own opinion on a number of really interesting finance-related topics, and even take on some responsibility for individual sub-projects. I was both challenged and encouraged in equal measure and was able to acquire the specialist and personal skills required for my current position as an interest-rate risk manager. In this role, my colleagues and I monitor the interest differential business on a daily basis and look for ways in which PostFinance can profitably invest the customer deposits entrusted to it on the capital markets. The trainee programme was the perfect preparation for this challenging job.”
