Here you will find answers to the most frequently asked questions about your credit card.

  • If you would like to upgrade or downgrade your credit card, please send us a message via e-finance or call us on: +41 58 448 14 14 (Monday to Friday, 8 a.m. to 8 p.m.; Saturday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.)

  • The 16-digit credit card number, which is divided into groups of four, can be found on your credit card.

  • You can request a replacement PIN free of charge in e-finance or in the PostFinance App. Log in, select the required card, click on the three dots and select “Order replacement PIN”.

    If you do not use e-finance or the PostFinance App, you can order a replacement PIN over the phone for CHF 20.

  • You can change your PIN to a four- to six-digit number combination at any ATM as often as you like. To do so, you need to know the current PIN.

  • The following measures will help you to protect your card:

    • Activate 3D Secure for more secure online payments.
    • Check your account transactions regularly and report any irregularities.
    • Set up suitable notifications in e-finance or in the PostFinance App to keep up to date with your transactions.
    • Never forward your card details by e-mail.
    • Never enter your card details on websites that you have opened via e-mail links.
    • Keep your card in a safe place and check regularly to make sure that you still have it.
    • Keep your PIN secret. Do not make a note of it or pass it on to third parties.
    • Cover the keypad when entering your PIN.
    • Have your credit card blocked immediately if it is lost, stolen or if you suspect misuse.

  • With automatic update services, your card details can be updated automatically when you receive a new card (e.g. for streaming subscriptions). If you do not want this, you can unsubscribe from this service.

  • Classic/Standard:

    • Cashback in the first year: 0.6%
    • Cashback from the second year: 0.3%

    Gold:

    • Cashback in the first year: 1.0%
    • Cashback from the second year: 0.5%

    Platinum:

    • Cashback in the first year: 1.0%
    • Cashback from the second year: 0.5%
  • No. You only receive cashback on the purchase amount charged to the credit card.

  • The cashback is paid directly into your private account in June and December.

  • No. You receive unlimited cashback on the purchase amount charged to the credit card.

  • You have two options:
    • Online: book directly on The link will open in a new window avis.ch. The discount will be deducted automatically when you pay with your PostFinance credit card.
    • By phone: call +41 848 811 818 and quote your AWD number (AVIS Worldwide Discount number) when booking to receive the discount. The AWD number can be found on the back of your credit card.
  • The discount depends on your credit card and the place of rental.

  • Yes. You must use your credit card when making your booking.

  • No. You must use your credit card to make the booking.

  • The concierge service organizes table reservations, tickets for sporting or cultural events, admission to exclusive clubs and much more.
