  • A CHF account is sufficient if you make payments in EUR only occasionally. However, if you regularly issue invoices in EUR, pay suppliers in the eurozone or expect incoming payments in EUR, it’s worth having a separate EUR account. This avoids currency conversions for each transaction, reduces exchange rate risks and simplifies accounting by recognizing transactions separately in different currencies.

  • Transfers within the SEPA area (40 other countries) are generally credited within one banking day of the debit, pro-vided the payment meets the bank’s internal processing deadline.

  • Yes, you can process SEPA Core Direct Debits via your EUR account provided that a valid SEPA Direct Debit Mandate exists between the debtor and the creditor.

  • Yes, you can use the EUR business account to carry out foreign exchange transactions in EUR – both spot transac-tions (buying or selling at the current rate) and forward contracts (hedging at a fixed rate for a future date). To do so, you need to have at least one additional account in a different currency (e.g. in CHF). This allows you to hedge against exchange rate fluctuations in a targeted way.

  • The EUR business account is managed as a separate foreign currency account in EUR. Transactions are entered in EUR, the conversion into CHF is carried out at the daily rate and is shown as a rate difference. Account statements are available electronically in e-finance and can be imported into common accounting solutions.
