The PostFinance Board of Directors has appointed Christian Mähr as the new CDPO and a member of the Executive Board. The position of Chief Development & People Officer was created as part of the new “Pulse” strategy and covers Strategy, Innovation, Data and HR as its areas of responsibility. “Christian Mähr has a great deal of expertise in digitization and transformation, but also in the Swiss SME business,” says Beat Röthlisberger, CEO of PostFinance. “His consistent customer focus, experience in retail banking and understanding of corporate customers are an excellent fit for our strategic focus. Christian Mähr to become Head of Corporate Development & People at PostFinance
PostFinance has appointed Christian Mähr as Chief Development & People Officer (CDPO). The 45-year-old is joining PostFinance from UBS and has over 20 years of experience at leading Swiss and international banks. As an expert in digitization, transformation and banking customer business development, he will provide vital momentum for PostFinance’s future from 1 January 2026.
Expert in transformation and corporate customers
Christian Mähr will take up his position on 1 January 2026. The University of St. Gallen graduate has more than 20 years of specialist and leadership experience in Swiss corporate and retail banking. He is also extremely well connected in the field of innovation and venturing. Most recently, Christian Mähr was Head of Partnerships & Ecosystems at UBS, driving forward strategic initiatives and partnerships for the retail and corporate customer segments. In his previous roles at UBS, he was responsible for the Switzerland-wide SME business and for developing digital corporate customer sales. Before joining UBS, he held positions at Commerzbank and Zürcher Kantonalbank.
