As varied as their functions may be, they all have to ensure that their funds look healthy – whether by charging membership fees, selling bratwurst and beer at a club party or collecting donations and benefactor contributions.

Collecting payments for an association: how the Winterthur Archers use TWINT
TWINT for associations makes it easy to collect money for an association’s funds. The Winterthur Archers have had positive experiences with this solution. For this reason, in future, they intend to use TWINT not only to process payments for clubhouse snacks, but also to collect membership fees.

The Winterthur Archers association has simplified this task for itself. The club has relied on the TWINT solution for associations since 2021. Urs Bachofner is the club secretary. He brought TWINT to the association. “I first introduced TWINT in my archery shop more than four years ago and in the past two or three years, I’ve seen this payment method become increasingly popular with my customers,” he recalls. It made sense then to propose this cashless payment solution to the association too. The Winterthur Archers currently use TWINT to collect payments for snacks and drinks in the kitchen at their clubhouse, situated in Schützenweiher park in the northern outskirts of the city. “We stuck a TWINT QR code on the fridge. Our members scan it and then pay the amount owed using the TWINT App on their smartphone. It works very well. Our accounts have been much more accurate since we introduced TWINT.”

Collection of membership fees also simplified
The next step that the association from Winterthur (The link will open in a new window bogenschuetzen-winterthur.ch) has planned is to use TWINT to collect membership fees too. “This task is right at the top of our to-do list,” says Bachofner. This would mean that the around 20 to 25 club members will in future be able to choose whether to continue paying their annual fee via QR-bill or instead use the new TWINT QR code option. “It’s important to us to make it as easy as possible for our members to pay their membership fees.” There’s no doubt that the association can put the money now flowing into their funds to good use. “We plan to expand by building a new clubhouse, so in future we can move our winter training sessions from a third-party gym to our own premises,” the club secretary says.

Setting up these solutions is very easy: you register your association or organization directly via TWINT. You can then generate as many TWINT QR codes as you want.
