PostFinance and iqtax

We developed TaxOptimizer in collaboration with iqtax. iqtax is a Swiss technology company based in Rotkreuz (Canton of Zug) that is rethinking tax returns: AI-supported, paperless and directly connected to the tax authorities. Developed with qualified tax and fiduciary experts.

Pilot project

TaxOptimizer is currently in the pilot phase and is being made available to a wider range of PostFinance customers for the first time. The test phase starts on 24 August 2026 and lasts until 31 December 2026. The offer is aimed in particular at people with a simple to mid-level tax situation, such as employees with the usual income, asset and deduction positions. During the pilot phase, you can prepare and submit your tax return for CHF 49.

TaxOptimizer is based on the existing solution from our partner iqtax. For collaboration with PostFinance, this has been specifically expanded and adapted to the requirements of the pilot project.

Electronic submission is initially possible in the Canton of Zurich, with further cantons to follow in stages. If your canton is not yet participating, you can register and be notified.

The real tax return should be so easy to use.

FAQs

  • TaxOptimizer is an AI-based tool for your tax return that PostFinance offers together with its Swiss partner iqtax. Instead of filling out form fields, simply upload your documents, such as your salary statement, pillar 3a certificate or health insurance premiums. Artificial intelligence reads your documents automatically, creates your tax return from them and makes possible deductions visible. You check the result and submit your tax return directly to the tax office in the Canton of Zurich electronically with just one click. In addition, a certified specialist will check your data again.

  • With the cantonal software, you can still complete your tax return yourself, field by field, with manual transfer of all the numbers. TaxOptimizer reverses the process:

    • Maximize deductions: AI recognizes deduction options, explains them clearly and makes automatic deductions directly, so you don’t miss a thing.
    • Avoid errors: no manual typing means fewer transference errors.
