How you get your credit card depends on whether you are already a PostFinance customer or would like to join us.

  • A banking package bundles all the accounts and cards you need for your daily banking:

    • Private account in CHF, EUR or a foreign currency
    • Savings account in CHF or EUR
    • Debit card
    • Credit card (optional, from 18 years of age) 
    • Prepaid card (optional, from 12 years of age)
    • E-finance and the PostFinance App for online management of your finances

    Choose the products and services within the banking package in line with your needs. You can open additional accounts at any time, free of charge.

  • PostFinance offers the following banking packages for people aged at least 18 (preconditions for a credit card):

    For adults, individuals and couples

    • Smart banking package for CHF 5/month
    • SmartPlus banking package for CHF 10/month

    For young people and students

    • SmartYoung banking package for CHF 0/month (up to the age of 20)
    • SmartStudents banking package for CHF 0/month (for people in education or training up to the age of 30)

  • Opening online

    You can open your banking package in around 10 minutes online, if

    • you are domiciled in Switzerland and are tax liable
    • the account is to be issued in your name
    • you have your smartphone to hand

    You can use your online banking immediately after the package has been opened. You will receive the cards you ordered by post within a few days.

     

    Opening in a branch

    If you open your banking package in a Swiss Post or PostFinance branch, the process can take several days. You receive all your documents, your access data for online banking and your cards by post.

    In both cases, you need a valid passport or identity card. For foreign identity documents, you also require your residence permit or permanent residence permit.
