Adjustments to addresses in payment orders and new specifications for the QR-bill The Swiss financial center is adapting to the international regulatory framework and will introduce an obligation to use the structured or hybrid address in accordance with the ISO 20022 standard for both international and domestic payments as of 20 November 2026. New directives for the QR-bill come into effect. The most important change is the sole support of the structured address (address type S) in the Swiss QR code. Use of the extended character set is also permitted.

  • The structured address will be mandatory for all payment orders and QR-bills.
  • S a minimum, the town name and country are mandatory. For QR-bills, it is also mandatory to indicate the postcode.
  • PostFinance does not support hybrid addresses.
