Press Release

Heidi Steiger to become Head of Risk, Compliance & Legal at PostFinance

PostFinance has appointed Heidi Steiger as Chief Risk Officer (CRO). The 51-year-old is moving from St. Galler Kantonalbank to PostFinance and has many years of specialist and management experience in the financial sector. The risk expert will be joining PostFinance on 15 March 2026.

The PostFinance Board of Directors has appointed Heidi Steiger as new CRO and a member of the Executive Board. “With Heidi Steiger, a proven risk specialist with extensive expertise in the financial sector is taking on the key position of CRO,” says Beat Röthlisberger, CEO of PostFinance. “She has considerable expertise and a wealth of experience and will ideally complement our Executive Board. With Heidi Steiger at the helm, the Risk, Compliance & Legal unit will be very well positioned to proactively and prudently address the regulatory and legal requirements of PostFinance as a systemically important bank.”

Heidi Steiger is 51 years old and has around 20 years of specialist and management experience in the financial sector, particularly in the field of risk. She studied economics at the University of St. Gallen and has a PhD in economics and finance. Steiger is currently Head of Treasury at St. Galler Kantonalbank, where she previously held the role of Chief Risk Officer. Thanks also to her prior role at UBS, where she worked for ten years in various management positions, Steiger is very familiar with the regulatory requirements for retail banks and their application and implementation.

As CRO, Heidi Steiger will succeed Felicia Kölliker, who took over the Corporate Customers unit on 1 December 2025 as part of the new “Pulse” strategy. Until Heidi Steiger takes up her position on 15 March 2026, Patrick Muff will manage the Risk, Compliance & Legal unit on an interim basis.
