Add your PostFinance Cards to Apple Pay

There are two ways to add your PostFinance Cards to Apple Pay.

With the PostFinance App

Log in to the PostFinance App, and at the bottom right of the screen, select “•••” (More). Select the PostFinance Card you want to activate under “My cards”. Confirm by clicking the “Add to Apple Wallet” button.

With the Wallet app

  • On an iPhone, open the Wallet app, tap the “+” sign in the top right and follow the instructions.
  • On an Apple Watch, open the Apple Watch app on your iPhone, tap “Wallet & Apple Pay” and then “Add Card”.

  • Apple Pay is free of charge for all users.

  • Yes. There are no additional fees for users when making payments with Apple Pay. That includes payments abroad.

  • Apple Pay is more secure than a physical debit or credit card. To use Apple Pay, you require Face ID, Touch ID or your personal device code when paying with your iPhone, iPad, Mac or Apple Watch.

  • That depends on the type of card you have added to Apple Pay, and it works in the same way as payment via a physical card.

    If you are using a debit card, the amount will be debited from your account straightaway. If you have added a credit card, the amount will be debited as part of your monthly invoice. When using a prepaid card, money must be loaded onto the card in advance.

  • Yes, by using your personal device code, Face ID or Touch ID.

  • Yes. No matter whether you have added your card to Apple Pay or TWINT or whether you pay with the physical card, you can benefit from our unlimited cash bonus programme.

  • In order to set up Apple Pay, you need:

    • iPhone from iOS 16 , Apple Watch , iPad  or Mac 
    • Apple Wallet app
    • PostFinance Card combined with Debit Mastercard
    • PostFinance credit card or prepaid card
  • Set up Apple Pay

    • iPhone: Open the Wallet app, tap the “+” sign in the top right and then follow the instructions.
    • Apple Watch: Open the Apple Watch app on your iPhone, tap “Wallet & Apple Pay” and then “Add Card”.
    • iPad: Open “Wallet & Apple Pay” in the settings and select “Add Card”
    • MacBook Pro with Touch ID: Select “Wallet & Apple Pay” in System Preferences, then click on “Add Card”.

    Pay using Apple Pay

    • Pay using Face ID: Double-click the side button on your iPhone, glance at your screen, then hold it near the reader.
    • Pay using Touch ID: Hold your iPhone near the reader with your finger on the Touch ID sensor.

    When you make a purchase, Apple Pay uses a device-specific number along with a unique transaction code. Your full card number is never stored on your device or on Apple servers and cannot be shared with retailers. To ensure all your purchases are confidential, Apple Pay does not store any transaction data that can be traced back to you.
