First-hand accounts – employees talk about their job

  • “As a full stack developer, I work in a highly professional team in customer order management. We develop BPMN workflow-based applications that automate our customer order processing, improve the customer experience and facilitate the work of PostFinance employees. The technical challenges are multifaceted: use of the Camunda Process Engine with Java backend and Angular frontend, deployed on Spring Boot and in Kubernetes. We are involved in establishing specifications with the specialists and are responsible for everything from development to maintenance in production. What I like is the culture of trust in the team and how the developers help each other to find solutions.”

  • “Our young team is currently made up of seven people. As our software is still in the phase before the first official release, our team is supported by internal as well as external staff. My colleagues are very helpful and I enjoy learning new things every day. This enables me to become familiar with complex processes and the current PostFinance systems. We are busy developing new process automation software. This will help make order processing for master data adjustments as automated as possible. My most important tools are IntelliJ, web browsers, Docker, Camunda Modeler, Confluence, Jira, Google and Skype. I appreciate the fact that at PostFinance I’m able to develop state-of-the-art software thanks to the latest technologies and versions, and keep up to date myself at the same time. We also meet every Monday morning for a cyber coffee ;)”
