The PostFinance Board of Directors has appointed Claudio Gaugler as the new CFO of PostFinance. Claudio Gaugler will take up the position on 1 September 2025, replacing CFO Kurt Fuchs, who stepped down at the end of February, on the PostFinance Executive Board. “I congratulate Claudio Gaugler on his appointment as CFO and would like to extend a warm welcome to him as a member of the Executive Board,” says Beat Röthlisberger, CEO of PostFinance. “Claudio Gaugler will bring his skills as a proven financial specialist to the position of PostFinance CFO. In the multi-stage selection process, he impressed me and the Board of Directors with his professionalism, expertise and track record, as well as his personality and authenticity. I look forward to working together with him in the future.” Beat Röthlisberger defined the transition period with Marc Bonfils, currently interim CFO: “I’m very pleased that until 1 September, we can count on Marc – a very experienced and established leader – to ensure an orderly transition.” Marc Bonfils will return to his former position as Head of Treasury on 1 September. New CFO: Claudio Gaugler to take over as head of the Finance unit at PostFinance from 1 September 2025
PostFinance has appointed Claudio Gaugler, a proven financial expert with many years of management experience in the banking sector, to the position of Chief Financial Officer (CFO). Until he takes up the position on 1 September 2025, Marc Bonfils will continue to head the Finance unit on an interim basis and ensure an orderly handover.
International professional and management experience in the financial sector
Claudio Gaugler is 40 years old and has more than 15 years of international professional and management experience in the financial sector. He studied business administration and banking and finance at the University of St. Gallen. Since 2010, he has held strategic and management positions in corporate development and worked in various finance roles at Credit Suisse and UBS in Switzerland and abroad. Thanks to his five years in New York, he also has in-depth knowledge of the international financial market. As Finance Chief Operating Officer, he was responsible among other things for operational management of the Group-wide Finance department, and served as Deputy CFO of Credit Suisse AG and CFO of Credit Suisse Services AG. Since 2023, Claudio Gaugler has been CFO of Credit Suisse Asset Management, where his responsibilities included managing financial integration into UBS.
