Set up login with your smartphone

The easiest way to log in to e-finance on a computer or notebook is to use the PostFinance App. If you are a new e-finance user, or if you have a new smartphone, you have to set up your login once in the PostFinance App. Here’s how it works.

Option 1: You have received a QR code by post

You will need: your smartphone, your e-finance password and the letter with the valid activation QR code .

  • Open the camera on your smartphone
  • Scan the QR code on the letter you have received
  • Install the app. If the app is already installed, it will open automatically
  • A welcome page displays in the app. Select one of the yellow buttons “Next”, “Login” or “Set up login”
  • Confirm all authorization requests for biometrics and push notifications
  • Follow all the instructions in the app

Option 2: Set up login without QR code on paper

All you need is: your smartphone, e-finance number or username, e-finance password and PostFinance Card .

  • You have forgotten your e-finance password

    You don’t have a valid QR code on paper

    Have you already used the PostFinance App and your mobile number has not changed recently?

    Try setting up the login without a QR code on paper (option 2 at the top of this page).

    Are you a new user of the PostFinance App, or have you recently changed your mobile phone number?

    Order a new QR activation code.

  • Check the preconditions

    The following conditions must be met before you can log in with your smartphone:

    • The PostFinance App is up to date
    • A code is set to unlock your smartphone
    • Biometrics are activated on your smartphone (fingerprint or Face ID)
    • You must be connected to the Internet throughout the login setup

    Have you fulfilled all these conditions? Reset the app.

    1. Delete the PostFinance App from your device
    2. Restart your smartphone
    3. Start the login setup again as described at the top of this page

Questions and answers

  • The PostFinance App must be downloaded from the Store and reinstalled on the new device. If the app was installed via SmartSwitch (Android) or from an iCloud backup (iOS), login requests will still be sent to the old smartphone.

    Delete the existing app on your new device and reinstall it from the Google Play or App Store. Then set up your login again as described at the top of this page.

  • The app can be used on several devices. However, the biometric login feature (Face ID and fingerprint identification) will work on only one device. Alternatively, you can use a different login method on your other devices (e.g. Mobile ID or a card reader).

  • For security reasons. After several failed login attempts, login via app is locked. As a precaution, you can restart your phone and try again. If your smartphone is still locked, the app can be unlocked only by calling our hotline.
