General Questions

  • EFT/POS (electronic funds transfer at the point of sale) allows your customers to make quick cashless payments at your points of sale. This helps you reduce the cash you deal with and increases the safety of your business due to the lower amount of cash you have on the premises.

  • If you already have an ep2 terminal, you will find the contract you need to complete at postfinance.ch/eft-pos. 

  • As an EFT/POS customer, you can already offer the option to withdraw cash. Notify your terminal manufacturer in order to have this transaction type enabled. 

  • If you already have an activated ep2 terminal, this payment method may be activated within 3 working days upon receipt of the EFT/POS contract.

Cards and Transactions

  • No, you are free to choose between crediting a PostFinance account or a third-party bank. If you use a PostFinance account, you will benefit from payment being credited quickly to your account, i.e. no later than a day after delivery of the transactions. If you use a third-party account, we cannot guarantee that payment will be made the following day.

  • With 2.7 million cards in circulation, the PostFinance Card is one of the most popular payment methods in Switzerland. It’s also the most inexpensive card payment method on the Swiss market. 

  • The fact that PostFinance is independent from card organizations allows it to set its own prices. What’s more, there are no interchange fees or levies involved, which would increase the prices.
