As we are continuously improving our payment methods, PostFinance Card and PostFinance E-Finance will gradually be combined into PostFinance Pay from 10 July 2023.

Further development of the payment method PostFinance Pay
From 10 July 2023, we will be gradually implementing a new payment method for online shops with PostFinance Pay, which will replace the two previous “PostFinance Card” and “PostFinance e-finance” payment methods. There is no need to use the PostFinance Card or the reader for transaction processing in the online shop. Customers can process their transactions easily and conveniently via the PostFinance App. This improves the customer experience and lays the foundations for conversion rate optimization.

You will need a business account at PostFinance or at a third-party bank and an acquiring contract with PostFinance. You will also require a contract with a payment service provider that has integrated the interface to PostFinance.

Your customers must have a PostFinance private account with a PostFinance Card and (if they have e-finance access) have already optionally registered to log in via the PostFinance App. From purchase amounts of CHF 500 or EUR 350, the card reader is required in addition to the PostFinance Card, if registration for the login via app has not yet been completed. There’s a monthly limit of CHF 1,500 or EUR 1,300 for the PostFinance Card Alias option.

Your customers need to have a PostFinance private account with an e-finance subscription and to have optionally registered for login via app or alternatively a PostFinance Card with a card reader or Mobile ID (certificate on the SIM card).

- For PostFinance e-payment methods, a commission of 1.3% will be charged, based on the amount for each sale or return
- For larger volumes, we will inform you of the price on request
- Customers with a PostFinance business account: commission is charged monthly
- Customers with an account at a third-party bank: commission is deducted directly from each transaction
