Pay for online purchases securely with 3-D Secure
With Touch ID and Face ID on Apple devices
Each time you make a payment in an online shop, you will be prompted by a push message to check once again the payment data (merchant name, amount and date of purchase as well as the first six and last four digits of the credit card used) to make sure they are correct.
Authorize the payment after verification using Touch ID or Face ID. You will then receive a confirmation screen. This completes your online purchase.
If something seems suspicious, stop the transaction by declining the push message. Call the number on the back of your card to have it blocked, or block it yourself in the app under > More > My cards.
You will promptly receive a new card free of charge.

With fingerprint and face recognition on Android devices

With SMS code
Each time you pay in an online shop, you will receive a code via SMS. Confirm the purchase by entering the code in the payment screen which appears on the screen.
This completes your online purchase.
If something seems suspicious, stop the transaction by not entering the SMS code.

3-D Secure is a standard from Mastercard/Visa and PostFinance for secure payment online. The free service provides additional protection against unauthorized use of your card. More and more online retailers are using 3-D Secure.

With the PostFinance App: In online shops that use 3-D Secure, you as a customer will be prompted to confirm the purchase in the PostFinance App via a push message on your smartphone when you make a payment with your card.
With SMS code: when making payments with your card in online shops that use 3-D Secure, you as a customer will be requested to enter a security code. The code will be sent by SMS to your registered mobile phone number.

Yes, the new 3-D Secure procedure is available immediately after one-time activation.

In this situation, you receive a new card. If the new 3-D Secure procedure had already been activated on the lost card, the new card does not have to be activated again.
