Banking packages for private customers

Banking packages bundle accounts and services together into a fair, transparent range of services.

  • PostFinance is bundling together its accounts and services into a fair and transparent service offering comprising both the Smart and SmartPlus banking packages. As of 1 July 2021, all private customers will be transferred to the banking package that is most in line with their use of PostFinance services. All customers will be informed in writing about which banking package they have been allocated.
  • As of 1 July 2021, all private customers will receive a banking package. Your account(s) per client relationship will automatically be transferred to the banking package that is most in line with your use of our services.

    If you do not agree with this, you can terminate your customer relationship with PostFinance in writing at any time within one month of receipt of the customer letter. This will not disadvantage you within this period, and any applicable withdrawal limits for savings accounts will be suspended.

  • You can easily change your banking package in e-finance under “Settings and profile”, “My products”, “Fees” or by post using the reply slip. With the banking package advisory tool, you can find out which banking package suits you best in just a few clicks.
  • You can easily cancel the paper option in e-finance under: “Settings and profile”, “My products”, “Fees”. If you do not have e-finance yet, you can order it at any time. You will then receive all notifications digitally in e-finance.

  • No. In the new SmartPlus banking package, you will receive a Classic/Standard or Value (prepaid) credit card free of charge as of 1 July 2021, or you will receive a CHF 50 discount on the Gold or Platinum credit card. You will be refunded on a pro rata basis any annual fee paid before 1 July 2021.

    Example: The customer is charged the annual price of CHF 50 for a Classic/Standard or Value (prepaid) credit card in January 2021 (card price for the period from January to December 2021). However, because the SmartPlus package price already includes the Classic/Standard or Value (prepaid) credit card as of 1 July 2021, the customer receives back 6/12 of the CHF 50 paid in January 2021 for the period from July to December 2021, i.e. CHF 25 in this example. The refund is made to the private account in August 2021.

  • With the SmartPlus banking package, you can use the Mastercard® Value (prepaid) or the Classic/Standard credit card free of charge or receive a discount of CHF 50 per year on the Gold or Platinum credit cards. You can apply for your credit card now already. The annual fee for the credit card will be charged to you once the card has been issued and will be automatically refunded once the banking packages have been introduced. You will be refunded on your private account in August 2021.
  • If you do not agree with the new regulations, you can close your savings accounts in writing at any time within one month of receipt of the customer letter. This will not disadvantage you, and any applicable withdrawal limits will be suspended during this month.
  • PostFinance focuses on the Swiss market area. For regulatory reasons, only a very limited range of products is available to customers domiciled abroad. Therefore, in order to save on fees, it is generally not possible for our customers domiciled abroad to benefit from products outside the limited range of services. Please note that for customers residing abroad, the CHF 25 fee per payment transaction account remains unchanged regardless of your choice of banking package.
  • In 2022, the PostFinance Card will be supplemented with the Debit Mastercard. This means that in future the card can be used worldwide for payment at points of sale (payment terminals and online shops). The inclusion of the Debit Mastercard will not result in any card price increase for cardholders.
