What is changing

For private and savings accounts in CHF and EUR with assets of at least CHF 100,000 (or the equivalent amount in euros), PostFinance charges a 0.75% customer asset fee on the credit balance above this amount.

Threshold calculation

When calculating the customer asset fee, each customer relationship is considered individually, as the fee is charged separately for each customer relationship. Our example shows how this works. Steven and Eva each have an individual customer relationship, as well as a joint partner customer relationship. A threshold is determined for each of the three customer relationships to form the basis for the customer asset fee.

As soon as the criteria for a change to the threshold have been met (as per the information provided above), this change will be carried out at the end of the relevant month and will be used to calculate the customer asset fee the following month.

  • Increase your threshold with investment products and save on fees

You can increase your threshold by investing some of your assets in funds or other securities.

For private customers with a PostFinance mortgage of CHF 100,000 or more, the threshold is increased by an additional CHF 250,000.

    • With the new calculation basis, PostFinance is responding to the persistently negative market interest rates.
