PostFinance signs all its outgoing e-mails with a digital signature. As the recipient, you can use this signature to check that the e-mail has genuinely been sent by PostFinance and that the message text has not been altered.
Security with signed e-mails
A digital signature serves the same purpose as a written signature: it confirms that the signed e-mail was sent by PostFinance and that it has not been altered since being sent.
PostFinance only sends digitally signed e-mails. Most e-mail clients (Outlook, Thunderbird, Windows Mail, Mail.app) support digital signatures and represent them with a seal, a sealed envelope or a tick. You can obtain more information about the signature by clicking on these symbols.
If you receive an e-mail that purports to be from PostFinance, you should check its signature. PostFinance only sends digitally signed e-mails. If you have received an unsigned e-mail claiming to be from PostFinance, please contact our Online Contact Center:
