Additionally, as the invoice recipient, you can also receive and process invoices digitally in your software. This saves you time and effort, gives you complete control over all your processes, and is environmentally friendly.
      • E-bills abroad are generally only used in the business-to-business (B2B) field. The ability to send an electronic invoice as an e-bill to e-banking accounts from practically any bank in Switzerland is unique.
      • Thanks to “Interconnect”, you can use PostFinance to send e-bills to companies abroad and receive digital bills from them as well.
    • In Switzerland, a number of key actors are involved in the sending and receiving of e-bills:

      • Software partners provide business software (ERP) that can be used to create and process invoices.
      • eInvoicing providers receive digital invoice data and forward it to the right recipient.
      • Network partners forward digital invoices to the eBill platform, which is implemented in 99 percent of Swiss financial institutions.
      • Financial institutions provide customers with access to eBill services in e-banking/e-finance.

      PostFinance not only has a wide network of software partners whose software provides an interface with PostFinance for sending and receiving digital invoices, it is also an e-billing provider, an eBill network partner and an eBill-affiliated bank. This means it offers a one-stop shop for all things e-billing.

    • PostFinance offers electronic invoices in “IDOC INVOIC 01/02” and “ybinvoice 2.x” format for when they are sent via SFTP or web services. Additionally, QR-bills can be uploaded in PDF format to the eInvoicing portal and delivered.
    • When sending and receiving electronic invoices, each transaction incurs a fee. The price depends on the number of e-bills sent and/or received per month.
    • Yes, QR-bills can be uploaded in PDF format to the eInvoicing portal and delivered. If you wish to send greater quantities of e-bills, it is a very good idea to check the direct interface connection from your software.

    • No, in Switzerland there is no general obligation to offer electronic invoices. However, for environmental reasons and from a cost and process optimization perspective, it is a good idea to send and receive invoices electronically.

      • Over 100 pieces of software provide a standardized interface for sending electronic invoices and e-bills via PostFinance. The list of software partners is growing all the time.
      • If you use SAP or your own individual solution, you can set up an individual interface with PostFinance.
      • You benefit from free advice and our support. In the price bracket covering up to 1,000 invoices per month, no costs are charged for monthly transactions worth 8 francs.
      • The eInvoicing portal is free to use.
      • PostFinance helps you free of charge to attract new eBill recipients using the “Look-up” and “Invoice issuer registration” web services.
    • Ideally you should have a piece of software you can use to create your invoices, which you can then send to PostFinance via an interface. Alternatively, you can also create QR-bills and send these in PDF format via the eInvoicing portal.
    • Input tax deductions work in exactly the same way as they do for paper invoices.
