Maria Teresa Vacalli joins the PostFinance Board of Directors

The PostFinance Ltd General Meeting has elected Maria Teresa Vacalli as a member of the PostFinance Ltd Board of Directors with effect from 7 April 2023. A native of Ticino, Vacalli has already been serving on the Swiss Post Ltd Board of Directors since May 2022. She is the parent company’s representative on the PostFinance Ltd Board of Directors.

Maria Teresa Vacalli (1971) studied industrial engineering at ETH Zurich. Her career began in 1998 as a manager at PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC). She has since held various positions at Ernst & Young, Cablecom GmbH, Sunrise Communication AG and Basler Kantonalbank. Most recently, she was CEO of Bank Cler. In addition to her post as a member of the Swiss Post Ltd Board of Directors, she has held various other board roles since 2013. The 52-year-old is currently a member of the Board of Directors for Burckhardt Compression Holding AG, a member of the Advisory Board for Kontivia AG, a member of the Foundation Board for gfm Swiss Marketing Association, a member of the Board of Directors for ETH Juniors and a member of the Board of Experts for GRDigital.

Valuable experience in the field of digitization and banking

Marcel Bührer, Chairman of the Board of Directors, is pleased about the new addition to the Board: “With her extensive experience and knowledge in the field of digitization and banking, Maria Teresa Vacalli will be a valuable addition to the PostFinance Ltd Board of Directors.” Maria Teresa Vacalli succeeds Jürg Brun, Member of the Board of Directors, who is stepping down at his own request after five years on the PostFinance Ltd Board of Directors. “Jürg Brun’s high level of competence in the Audit & Compliance field have contributed significantly to developing the collaboration between the bank, Internal Auditing and the external audit company in a cooperative and professional manner. The Board of Directors would like to thank Jürg Brun for his valuable contribution, marked by his extensive entrepreneurial experience and constant endeavours in the interests of PostFinance Ltd,” adds Mr Bührer.
